Me

My home is filled with the laughter of my children. I am a history and English teacher, artist and writer. I began my exploration of mobile photography in the early spring of 2012. Abstract art and writing were my avenues of creativity previous to encountering this fast and unique art form on a phone. I've been an active supporter and organizer of the mobile photography community on Google+, and I was the first (and only) member of AMPt who used an Android device. That was back before AMPt became a Community. I was also one of the original members (#3) of Android Editors, and the originator of the #iDroid_Collab between AMPt, Android Editors and Juxt. My shooter is a Samsung Galaxy S3.

Enter Sandman || This image is a combination of Snapseed to brighten the man, Frex fractal generator to create the doorways to another world, DecoSketch to add inner design to the "building" - perhaps it is the mind - as well as the horizon, and PS…

Indicative Of Our Times

Indicative Of Our TimesThere is this metaphor that keeps getting invited to all the technological parties. It's that metaphor that says that the world is getting smaller with each technological leap forward. Maybe that's true to an extent. Maybe we do get closer to everyone else because of technology. More to the point is…See More

Pike

I was out with family recently, learning to ice skate when I chanced to go by this man, out staring at a hole in the half meter thick layer on the lake. (Behind him is the track on the lake that was ploughed, yes ploughed, aside.) I went straight to him and struck up conversation.…

The Fast Lane

In less than three seconds, this man will be hit by a car. That's not true. Not for him anyway. But it could be. The point is, in that moment that you read those words, you stopped. Right now it is happening. So often I think we busy our lives with trifles and…

There’s something powerful -- inspiring -- about collaboration. There’s nothing in life more important than teamwork. Two people joining forces to reach a goal, to create for whatever reason. The final result is more than the sum of the parts. Last month I managed to organize, among all the…

If you work with a lot of images, give QuickPic a try.  It's free, has more features than the stock Android Gallery app and generally doesn't break when working with a lot of images.  Here is one of the many ways I use it.  Quite often I want to…Continue
